meeting day

I'm in a meeting. all. day. long. Ugh. Here's to the working girl! Hope you all have fabulous days that are not spent in (unproductive) meetings.

(My personal opinion of meetings: People gather to talk about what they haven't done.
"Let's stop talking and start doing," is my motto, but no one asked me.)

life is attitude

I think this is an awesome quote. Next time I'm having a bad day I will think, "I am Amy." And then strut around. Sometimes you just have to strut.

"When I wake up in the morning, I feel just like any other insecure 24-year-old girl. Then I say, 'Bitch, you're Lady GaGa, you get up and walk the walk today.' "

William Osler

short absence

Well it has been a bit of an absence folks, but a lot has happened. A family emergency type situation exhausted my energies most of last week. My grandmother passed away, and while she was not in good health, that does not make it easy on anyone. And while I don't feel like this is an appropriate forum to delve into unhappy, depressing, life facts, just know that I missed this!

I've often found that it's the happy things that draw people in and provoke more conversation than silence-breeding contemplation. So there you have. Life is hard and right now it is difficult, more so for those around me, but we keep going.

In happier news,
The move is almost complete, yay! and then I can slowly start organizing everything into its proper place. I will try to post pictures tomorrow as that is probably easier than writing right now.

always dream...

"Always dream and shoot higher than you know you can do.
Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors.
Try to be better than yourself."

Yay! Firday!

[600full-adriana-lima-1.jpg]
SO happy for this weekend! It's finally here! I will be spending the next 48 hours with boxes and more boxes. In other news I signed up for the Nivea Goodbye Cellulite, Hello Bikini Challenge and I'm pretty pumped about it. I love how they spelled it all out for me with a daily workout/diet schedule...anyways, stay tuned for that and
have the greatest weekend!!

Two days till the big move!

The move is right around the corner! My desk has another coat of paint on it, so hopefully that works out. The couch and dining room table have been purchased and things are starting to be put in boxes. Here's a little bit of last-minute inspiration.

Coco+Kelley read my mind today. We bought a deep, neutral couch (so friends can stay over!) and this is a great layout for everything: color, flowers, plants, books! Love.

Hate you Wednesday. Seriously, what have you done for me lately other than get in the way of a good Thursday. You don't even have good TV (and I watch Real Housewives of every city)! You are lame Wednesday. And now it's raining, way to really top it off.

Miracle Cure for Summer

Tea Tree Oil with Vitamin E!
a.k.a. Miracle Oil.

This little jar works miracles on any skin ailment. Seriously, any problem.
My workout routine has become more disciplined in anticipation of bathing suit season, and the unavoidable sweat wreaks havoc on my skin...enter Tea Tree Oil! It works anywhere and everywhere and is a gentle, natural remedy that noticeable nourishes my skin. I would recommend getting it with Vitamin E to prevent any type of discoloration.

I even put it on the Boyfriend thinking it would make him do the dishes...fail.

What a weekend! Saw lots of old friends and just had an all-around good time.

Recommendations:
Get Him to the Greek- cheap laughs and worth every penny if you know a Jeffrey.
Strawberry Sorbet by Haggen Daz- delicious and somewhat nutritious!

Here's to a snappy week,
so I can get back to the weekend!

inspirings

What a wonderful month June is shaping up to be, with an amazing memorial day kickoff to a four-day workweek and off to new beginnings!
The move is getting so close and I am so excited I can hardly stand it.

A few days ago I impulsively decided it would be a good idea to just paint my desk as oppose to buying one that would match the new furniture.
Two days ago I put on the primer, still convinced this was the best idea ever. Yesterday, I opened up the black paint that was to glamorously grace the desk only to find white/gray paint. Confused, I read the directions (finally!) and found that you have to stir the paint. Hmph, ok. So I simply dipped the paint brush in with the ambition of casually stirring the paint. But this is no causal task. The paint needs to be thoroughly stirred, a "get to the bottom of the can and uproot the color" stir.
My patio is now black.
I still have a few more coats to go before my desk is complete and I am able to decide if this was all worth it. I'll keep you posted, but right now Ikea looks like the better option.

Here are my latest inspirations...

And this will be my bath, I need to contact management about some construction...

And sometimes anything really does go:

Thursday,
I love you.
